Wednesday Wishlist

Happy Hump Day everybody! I hope everyone is surviving their week so far... the weekend is so close yet, so far away! I never thought I would say this, but I cannot wait to go back to school! I've been so busy working my little tush off all summer that it has turned into one big annoying cycle of: work at one job, work at other job, go home, eat, sleep, repeat. So glamorous, I know! In my busy schedule, it has been super difficult staying on track with my blog also, though I am trying to dive back into it better than ever before! You may have already noticed the my page has had quite the facelift. I have decided to change the name of my blog from All That Glitters xox to Flora & dot. This seemed to be a more general name while still keeping the femininity of my page in full play. Anyways, where was I? Oh yes-this weekend! I am, however, finally getting to go on a little weekend getaway to Kansas City with the boy. I'm looking forward to all of the shopping and dining, of course! If you don't already know of the tragedy, Nebraska doesn't have a Nordstrom OR an H&M here so I take full advantage of the KC trips to go see what goodies I can find their! Lately, I have been rounding up things for my new house for the school year and I decided to share a handful things that are on my wishlist for decorating and such!

Alright, so here's the breakdown with links to these beauties:
- gold starburst decoration: Target
- diy kate spade stool: Preciously Me
- "pretty and witty" candle: Kate Spade NY
- "eat cake for breakfast" laptop sleeve: Kate Spade NY
- Set the Stage agenda: Kate Spade NY
- Thermal Mug: Kate Spade NY
- Stripe cushion cover: H&M
- Knit cushion cover: H&M
- Animal print pillow: PBTeen
- Luminous dots pillow: Anthropologie

Thanks for checking in! Happy Wednesday lovelies!

Ashlee

Oscars Red Carpet Trends of 2014

I anticipated this event for the longest time (as I'm sure you have as well) getting amped-up by watching other award ceremonies and the fashion that we saw with those. At last, the moment we all have been waiting oh-so patiently for: the 2014 Oscars. Of course, our favorite part is the fashion, right? Right. I fell in love with so many of the designs I saw last night and noticed a couple fairly prominent trends that were carried through many of the stars.

To start off, there were numerous dresses with unique spins and elaborate embellishments that you would need a magnifying glass to catch every last detail. The first, and perhaps, the most obvious re-occurring trend that stood out to me was the neutral and embellished dresses with a lot of detail work. I was practically drooling over these pieces because I'm a sucker for a great neutral piece and of course, I love glitter and sparkly things! The other trend that proved rather popular were the ladies that opted to leave their sleeves (and straps) at home. There were many black dresses following this trend and I must admit that I am still swooning over Emma Watson's look of the night. L-O-V-E it!

Live Colorfully

Hey friends!
Just wanted to share a quick note on the most recent addition to my lip collection! This is the perfect duo and is great for when you're on the go as well. It is a luminous creme lipstick duo from Bite Beauty and the shades that I purchased were Pomegranate (left) and Vidal (right). I found this little gem at my local Sephora store near the cashwrap and I was super excited to try them out. The ladies at the store had told me that they were about to start carrying the official line of Bite Beauty products and that that had just been one of the introductory products. After contemplating waiting for the full line or caving and making a purchase right away, I finally decided to give this pretty thing a try and see how I liked it. I was extremely pleased with the quality of this well-formulated and pigmented product as it went on smoothly with a slight sheen appearance and managed to stay on pretty well. If anyone has any other comments or recommendations, comment below!
